About Colombian coffee
Colombia stands as the second-largest global contributor to coffee production, boasting the top spot in washed Arabica beans. Annually, it exports around 12.5 million bags of coffee, with approximately half destined for the United States, while domestically consuming about 2 million bags.
Colombia's coffee production spans across 32 departments, akin to states, and encompasses 22 distinct coffee-growing regions. What sets Colombia apart is its geographical diversity, ensuring that coffee production is a year-round affair. Thanks to its vast size and varied terrains, there's always a region in Colombia in full swing with coffee cultivation.
When discussing Colombian coffee, you often encounter the term "Colombia Supremo," denoting the largest bean size available from the country. These beans, classified as Supremo, typically boast a screen size of 17 or 18, slightly larger than the Excelso variety.
Our Colombia Supremo coffee is meticulously sourced from specific regions, though this region may vary depending on the shipment time. Nonetheless, what remains consistent is the meticulously crafted cup profile, tailored to meet the unique characteristics of each regional blend.
Sustainability: All of our coffee beans are traceable directly to the farm and the farmer. Our coffees are either Fairtrade Organic (FTO) or Rain Forest Alliance (RFA) certified, or grown as a collective or cooperative to assure a fair wage, investment in the community and good environmental practice. Our coffee bags are recyclable.
Why buy from us? Our award-winning, ethically sourced coffee is freshly hand roasted to order every week. Our aim is to retain the main characteristics of single origin Arabica beans and to enhance them with delicate roasting.
