Papua New Guinea Hai Tambu Coffee
From the mountainous Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea comes Hai Tambu Coffee, a distinctive regional speciality coffee grown at elevations of 1,400–1,900 metres. Rather than coming from a single estate, this coffee brings together carefully selected lots from the region, representing the work of small-scale coffee producers across one of Papua New Guinea’s most important coffee-growing areas.
The high-altitude environment and careful washed processing give Hai Tambu Coffee a wonderfully clean and vibrant character. In the cup, lively, vibrant acidity meets generous sweetness, with juicy blackcurrant and bright mandarin bringing a delicious fruity freshness. Beneath this are subtle herbal notes and a touch of caramel, adding depth and balance to the cup.
The result is a beautifully rounded coffee with a velvety body and a refreshing finish. It has plenty of character without becoming overly intense, making it a unique and intriguing example of what Papua New Guinea's highland coffees can offer.
We roast Hai Tambu to a medium profile, allowing its natural fruit sweetness and lively acidity to shine while developing the caramel sweetness and smooth body that make this such an enjoyable coffee.
